Course Offerings

The German School Rochester offers German for every age, from our youngest learners through adults, in a warm and welcoming community that meets mostly on Saturdays. The classes below are grouped by age and level so you can find the right starting point.

The language courses generally take place on Saturday mornings. Individual lessons can also be offered upon request. Our school year includes 30 Saturdays between September and June and follows the holiday schedule of the Rochester City School District.

Children · Kinder

Marienkäfer (ages 3–4), Schmetterling (ages 5–6), Elementary I (grades 1–3), and Elementary II (grades 4–5).

Youth · Jugendliche

Middle School and High School, both tailored to learners between CEFR A1 and B1.

Adults · Erwachsene

Four levels from beginner (CEFR A1) through proficiency (CEFR B1.2 and higher), plus Deutsch Treffpunkt, our book club and conversation group.
