The German School Rochester is a nonprofit organization. We began in 2007 as a private initiative by parents who wanted to impart language skills and an understanding of the cultures of German-speaking countries to their children. Today we teach children and adults of all ages (from three years old) and at every level.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Teachers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our teachers are all native German speakers. They work according to modern, communication-oriented methods of foreign language teaching. When designing lessons and selecting teaching materials, the age and language ability of the different learning groups are taken into account.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The German School Rochester, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization recognized by the IRS and a New York State Nonprofit Corporation. All students or their parents, as well as teachers, are automatically members and have the right to attend member meetings and elect the school board.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The president, treasurer, and vice president of the administration are elected at the organization’s annual general meeting. The director and secretary are appointed by the elected board. Parents can assist on a voluntary basis, thereby contributing to the enrichment of the school community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
